Savoury Crepes

Savoury Crepes with chicken filling, Delicious and perfect for dinner or high tea. The crepes are delicious even if its eaten as it is, or with this yummy chicken filling, you can actually put any filling of your choice and wrap these up, minced meat or eggs, the choice is yours! but I simply love this chicken filling, its fast to prepare and delicious to taste. You can also use leftover chicken as well, I usually shred leftover chicken pieces and it turns out great in this recipe.

Savoury Crepes with Chicken filling
Makes - 6 crepes                                                                                                                                                                                            
Duration - 20 mins


Ingredients
  1. Flour - 1 cup
  2. Egg - 2
  3. Salt - 1/2 tsp
  4. ginger garlic paste - 1/4 tsp
  5. Melted butter - 2 tbsp
  6. Milk - 3/4 cup
  7. Water - 1/2 cup
  8. Green chillies- 1 chopped
  9. Carrot - 1/2 grated
  10. Coriander - handful (chopped)
For chicken filling
  • Chicken - 300 grams
  • Onion - 2 sliced
  • Tomato - 2 chopped
  • Ginger garlic paste - 1tsp
  • Ketchup - 1 tbsp
  • Salt - 1 &1/2 tsp
  • Red Chilli powder - 1 tsp
  • Green chilli - 2 slit
  • Vinegar - 1tsp

​Method -

Chicken 
  • ​Cut the Chicken breasts, into small pieces, add salt,  ginger garlic paste, and a little water, let it boil, once the chicken is cooked, shred it . ( You can use left over chicken too)
  • Heat 3 tbsp oil, add sliced onions, once transparent, add ginger garlic paste, saute.
  • Now add the shredded chicken , green chilli , salt, red chilli powder , ketchup , vinegar. mix well.
  • Now add the chopped tomatoes, saute. 
  • Mix well until the tomatoes are tender. 
  • Once the Mixture dries up and the oil seperates, remove from heat and set aside.

Crepes
  • Add all the dry ingredients together, flour, chillies, chopped coriander, salt, grated carrot, mix well.
  • In a small bowl, add the eggs, milk  and water, whisk together. 
  • Now pour this into the dry ingredients. and mix well. until you have a thin batter.
  • Now add the melted butter and the ginger garlic paste. mix well.
  • Now to cook the crepes, Heat a non stick pan, put a few drops of oil, and wipe it with a kitchen cloth, so you have a coating of oil.
  • Scoop about a  1/4 cup of batter, and pour it on the pan, grab the handle and swirl it around to distribute the batter evenly and as thin as possible.
  • Cook it for a minute , and flip the crepe, cook till slightly brown.
  • Remove the crepe . and repeat the steps.
  • Once the crepes are ready. Put a tablespoon of the chicken filling on each crepe and roll it. 
  • Serve hot!!!
