Gulguley ( Dumplings) is my personal favorite! and a must-have in our house during Ramadan. Very simple to make, and a delicious snack. Also, a good way to use up the ripe bananas that no one wants to eat. Go ahead try it! and let me know how it comes out! Gulguley (Sweet banana dumplings) Serves - 4-5 Duration - 10 mins
Ingredients
1. Maida/ Flour - 1 1/4 Cup 2.Banana (Riped 2) 3.Brown sugar - 7 tbsp 4.Vanilla Essence - 1tsp 5.Baking powder - 1tsp 6.Water - a little less than 1/2 cup
Method - *Mash bananas well using a spoon. *In a bowl,take flour and add sugar, vanilla essence and baking powder *Add the mashed bananas to this mixture and mix well. *Add water slowly, in order to not make it too watery and easy to pour using spoon. *Now heat oil for deep frying, scoop the mixture in a spoon and drop it in the hot oil. *Fry until golden brown. *Remove the dumplings and place on a tissue so that all excess oil is absorbed. *Pour maple syrup over it and serve warm. & Enjoy! =)
Cooking tips - - Make sure the bananas are ripe so it'll be easy to mash, and make the dumplings gooey and yummy. -Dont add too much water, as it will be difficult to fry it in the hot oil and getting the perfect round balls will be difficult.
