Creamy Methi Chicken Gravy is a delicious, mouthwatering, thick and creamy gravy that will go perfectly well with zeera rice and roti/naan. My little son,E has recently gotten very interested in gardening, and he along with his daadimi (grandma) planted some methi seeds. And he was patiently waiting for days to pluck and eat it. So, I decided to add it to the chicken gravy I was going to cook today for lunch. Well, I have to say even I dint expect it to be soooo good! It turned out delicious and well balanced! I served it with zeera rice, but I am sure it'll go perfectly well with roti / naan . Do try it! And let me know what you guys think!
Creamy Methi Chicken Gravy
Serves - 4-5 Duration - 30 mins
Chicken - 1 kg
Oil - 1/2 Cup
Onion - 1 big
Cream - 250 ml
Milk - 300 ml
Garam masala powder - 1/2 tsp
Methi - handful
Kasuri Methi - 2 tbsp
Ginger-garlic paste - 1 1/2 tsp
Green Chillies - 6-7
Red chilli powder - 1 tsp
Salt - 1 1/2 tsp
Coconut Powder - 2 tbsp mixed in 1 cup water
Coriander leaves (handful) - for garnish
Wash chicken , strain and keep aside.
Heat Oil in a wok, add half of the onions and green chillies, saute for 2- 3 mins.
Add ginger garlic paste, saute.
Now add the chicken , salt , red chilli powder, mix well.
Add the Methi leaves and the crushed kasuri methi. saute for 2 mins.
Pour the milk, and let it cook for 5 mins.
Now pour the cream, mix well. Close the lid and let it cook for 10 - 15 mins, till the chicken is tender.
Mix coconut powder in a cup of water. pour this into the wok and mix.
Fry the rest of the onions till golden brown. add it to the wok and mix well.
Delicious Creamy Methi Chicken gravy is ready to be served!
Garnish with fried onions and chopped coriander leaves.
