Prawn masala gravy

Prawn masala gravy - is a simple recipe, fast to make and delicious in taste, can be accompanied with zeera rice or roti. goes perfectly well with both.My kid loves prawns, so I make this very frequently.

Prawn Masala 
Serves - 4-5                                                                                                                                                                                         
​ Duration - 20 mins


Ingredients
  1. Onions - 3 medium sized (sliced)
  2. Tomatoes - 3 medium sized (chopped)
  3. Oil - 1/2 cup
  4. Prawns - 1/2 kg
  5. Green chilli - 4  (slit)
  6. Garam masala powder - 1/4 tsp
  7. Chopped Mint leaves - (handful)
  8. Chopped Coriander leaves - (handful)
  9. Vinegar - 1tsp
  10. ​Ketchup - 2 tsp
  11. Red chilli powder - 2 tsp  or to taste
  12. Haldi (turmeric) - 1/4 tsp
  13. Salt - 1 1/2 tsp or to taste
  14. Ginger garlic paste - 1 tsp
  15. Water -1/2 Cup

​Method -
  • ​Wash prawns, devein and set aside.
  • *Heat oil in a wok , Once it is hot add the sliced onions and green chilli. Once the onion turns golden brown add the ginger garlic paste and saute for 2 mins.Now add the prawns, haldi, red chilli powder, salt .Add garam masala, and saute.
  • Add chopped tomatoes and fry, till it becomes tender. Once the tomatoes are tender add the vinegar and ketchup. mix well. add 1/2 cup water, let it cook
  • Add the coriander and mint leaves and let it simmer.
  • Once the oil separates,  its ready. remove from heat and serve hot!
  • Serve Hot with zeera rice /Bagaara Khaana or roti/naan
