Strawberry Cream Crunch - If you are looking for an easy yet amazingly delicious dessert for a party or a get-together, look no further this dessert is so simple to put together, that you will be blown away by how amazing it tastes. So I got this recipe from my dear cousin who lives in the U.S , she raved so much about it, that I had to give it a try ASAP. So, this week my baby turned the big ONE! (Ah!) So, I thought of making this along with another desi dessert for her birthday party. And I must say this Dish was wiped off! It was a big hit! Everybody fell in love with it!Esp my hubsy! lol. So simple to make with only four ingredients. Do give it a try and let me know what you think!! Strawberry Cream Crunch Serves - 7-8 Duration - 10 mins ( Prep time) 60 mins (Setting time)
Strawberries - 50 -60 pieces
Whipping Cream - 1 litre
Sugar (in cream) - 5-6 tbsp /(to taste)
Sugar (in strawberries) -( 4 tbsp )
Vanilla cake- 1/2 kg
Chop the strawberries, strain it for 10 mins
Then add 5-6 tbsp sugar, mix it well and refrigerate for 6-7 hours (or overnight)
Now, pour the whipping cream/ Double cream in a deep bowl, add 5-6 tbsp of sugar, and beat it well for 8-10 mins.
Refrigerate for an hour, now add in the strawberries, and fold (Do not mix, as it will make the cream runny) Do not over-mix, let it have streaks of pink and white.
Now crumble the cake and put it in a dish (or a small bowl), now pour the cream and strawberries on it.
Garnish with crumbled cake and chopped strawberries.
Cooking tips -
Strain the chopped strawberries well before adding the sugar. As once you add sugar, there will be alot of sugar syrup in it.
Let the strawberries and sugar mixture be in the fridge for atleast 5-6 hours.
When adding the strawberries into the cream, add the syrup as well.
Taste the cream (for sweetness) before adding the strawberries.
